Before we start we will point out a few features common to all Dyson models.
1) The all never loose suction. By relying on centrifugal force as the main filter instead of bags and filters like other vacuums the Dyson will never see a decrease in performance related to air flow issues as is so common in other vacuums.
2) All Dyson vacuum cleaners have a clear bin that is easy to empty. You never need to purchase or replace a bag again.
3) With no bags or filters to buy there are no additional costs. The can be a substantial savings over time.
4) All models sold in the US come with a hepa filter and are approved for allergy suffers by the British Allergy Foundation (BAF).

The Dyson DC07 series was the original Dyson vacuum cleaner sold in the US. It is the cheapest non-refurbished model with an entry level price of $399. It has several differences that separate it from its newer siblings:
The Dyson DC07 has a reversible wand as shown to the right. To use the wand you need to de-attach it from the vacuum, reverse the wand and than re-attach it to the vacuum hose. To put the vacuum back into its normal working setup you need to follow these steps backwards. While not difficult the telescoping wand on the DC14 and DC15 is infinitely easier to use.
The DC07 does not have the wide channel for picking up larger debris. The Dyson DC07 Series also has a larger bin capacity. From a performance and aesthetic aspect you will find minor differences that have no real impact on performance.
As mentioned above the Dyson DC14 Vacuum Cleaners and Dyson DC15 Vacuum Cleaners have a telescoping wand and a wide channel. The telescopic wand is very easy to use and as vacuuming can be a chore (even with the Dyson) anything that makes it easier is welcomed. Now you can quickly and easily pull the wand out from your Dyson vacuum with little effort. In our opinion this is the major and most functional difference between the Dyson DC07 and Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaners. And this is exactly what this compare Dyson vacuums review was supposed to show. However, one problem with the DC07 was that it had a tendency to push objects in front of it. With the wide channel the DC14 vacuum and DC15 vacuums no longer have that problem.
The new Dyson DC15 Ball Vacuums have several features that make it one of the most original and technologically advanced vacuums in the world today. With the introduction of the Ball series Dyson literally shook the foundation of the vacuum industry. Never before had a vacuum vendor so directly challenged our view of the upright vacuum. With a ball as a foundation now an upright vacuum has the maneuverability of a canister. You can easily twist around furniture and reach those hard to get places with no extra effort. The Dyson DC15 vacuums also have a motorized brush bar with an on/off switch. These advances coupled with the powerful consistent cleaning power common to all Dyson vacuums makes the DC15 and unique and unparalleled vacuum cleaner.
We hope we help you a bit with this compare Dyson vacuums post, and that you are at least one step closer to your decision about which Dyson vacuum cleaner to buy.

Hi Cathy, good post. If money permits, I would always reccomend to spend a bit more and go for one of the better uprights.
If you can only afford the dc07, I would still buy that over any other brand.
Thanks
Jenny
